Round Table "Society without Corruption"

November 16, 2016 a roundtable on "Society without Corruption", dedicated to the International Anti-Corruption Day, was held for students of Kazakh American Free University majoring in "Jurisprudence" with the support of the EKR Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption.

Roundtable speakers were government anti-corruption officials: R.B. Nabiyev, Head of the EKR Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption, Y.S. Zeynoldin, officer for particularly important cases of the operational division of the National Bureau of Anti-Corruption Department; as well as representatives of local administration and local government, public associations of Ust-Kamenogorsk and East Kazakhstan region: O.V. Chernyshov, Member of the East Kazakhstan Regional Administration, member of EKR Public Council, L.S. Zakharova, Chairman of "For the Future of Kazakhstan" public association of Ust-Kamenogorsk, Serik Orazbayuly, Chairman of the Council of Local Authorities of Ust-Kamenogorsk.

K.O. Alembayev, PhD, associate professor of Law and International Relations Department of KAFU, said that one of the areas of prevention of corruption offenses is the formation of legal culture and legal consciousness of youth, students and all citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Participation of KAFU students in «Summit G20» business game

November 16, 2016 students of Kazakh American Free University majoring "International Relations" Yaroslav Ovechkin and Arina Ryabova took part in "Summit G20" business game, organized by EKSU in dedication of the 60th anniversary of the historical faculty of the university.

Game discussed the issue of countries overcoming the global economic crisis. KAFU students performed in English on behalf of presidents of the USA and Poland, offering to develop a comprehensive concept aimed at ensuring sustainable global economic development.

All participants received certificates, Yaroslav Ovechkin, a second year student majoring "International Relations"was named “Best Orator”.

Training on Prevention of Religious Extremism and Terrorism among Youth

November 15, 2016 Kazakh American Free University held a seminar - training on the prevention of religious extremism and terrorism among the youth.

Seminar - training was conducted by the Center for Religions Problem Studies of East Kazakhstan Region. Miras Kayratuly, expert of the Center was the moderator of the event and addressed participants with a welcoming speech. Presentations were made by Gaukhar Ryspayeva, Head of Department of Information and Olga Gaiko, Head of Department of Analysis and Monitoring of the Religious Situation.

Representatives of the Youth Committees and Student Government of universities and colleges took part in the seminar.

Training included discussions and exchange of views on dangers of youth involvement into destructive religious movements. Trainers answered all questions of the youth.

Volleyball Competition in XIV Games of KAFU President Prizes

November 4-12, volleyball competitions among students in annual Games of KAFU President Prizes were held in KAFU gym.

The competition was attended by more than 100 students of KAFU, KAFU college and EFC.

Competition was organized and carried out by:

Viktor Tsyplakov - Head of Physical Education and Sport, K.Z. Sadykov - Teacher of Physical Education and Sport (chief referee), K.T. Toleukhanov - KAFU College teaxher (chief judge assistant).

Judges of the competition: Alina Sharafutdinova, Diana Bortnikova, Timur Turarov.

The winners of the competition were awarded with diplomas.

KAFU Participation in Omsk UN International Models 2016

November 9-11, 2016 Yuliya Larionova, a student majoring in "International Relations" participated in Omsk UN International Models 2016. The game was held on the basis of Omsk State University after Fyodor Dostoyevsky, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RF in Omsk, the Consulate of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Omsk, Omsk City Council and student movement "OMSK".

UN Model is a game which involves thousands of school children and students of various disciplines and faculties around the world. Omsk International United Nations Model was attended by students and graduates from Iran, Nepal, Mexico, Nigeria, South Africa, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Spain, Slovakia, as well as more than 15 Russian cities.

Taking on the role of diplomats of specific countries, the Forum participants discussed international nature of problems in English and following the rules of parliamentary procedure, produced a resolution.

"As a result of this training and participation in United Nations Model I acquired knowledge, experience and skills useful in my future professional diplomatic activity", says Yuliya. The game once again proved that knowledge of foreign languages ​​opens up great opportunities for international communication and acquisition of new friends from different countries.

All participants received certificates.
