Newton - Al-Farabi Partnership Program of Development and Engagement

22-23 September, 2016, Professional Development and Engagement Centre for Kazakh American Free University held a training session on Research Management and Administration as part of the Newton - Al-Farabi Partnership Program. KAFU President, Member of the Academy Yerezhep Mambetkaziyev welcomed participants of the seminar and trainers -Tara Mitchell and Amos Fatokun. As is known, KAFU is one of the bases for creating professional development and cooperation centers in Kazakhstan. Mission of the Centre is to support research activities in Kazakhstan and increase the productivity of research. Professional Development and Engagement Centre has been active for 2 years now. In 2015-2016 it held five workshops with foreign trainers’ participation. Over 100 faculty and staff members of KAFU, EKSU, EKSTU, Semipalatinsk State Project Institute, Nazarbayev Intellectual School, Pushkin’s Regional Library, JSC «AES», the Eastern Mining-and-Metallurgical Research Institute for Nonferrous Metals attended the workshop.

Faculty, staff members, masters and doctoral students of Ust-Kamenogorsk took part in this seminar. The main aspects of management and administration of research projects were uncovered by experienced trainers.

Tara Mitchell. A Canadian has designed and facilitated professional development workshops. She spent past seven years coaching on behalf the British Council in different countries: Singapore, Morocco, Tanzania, Thailand, Malaysia, Egypt, China, Brazil and Uruguay.

 Dr Amos Fatokun obtained a first-class degree in Pharmacy from the first Faculty of Pharmacy in West Africa (at Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria). He continued his studies at the University of Glasgow (UK). He then worked as an independent researcher in other prestigious institutions across the world, including in the US, Australia and the UK. He currently conducts research in the Medical Sciences at the University of Bradford in England, UK. His work has been published in several leading international journals.

 

 

TECHNOLOGY OF CLEANING AND YIELD researchers and specialists discussion in KAFU

Discussion took place on September 16, 2016 during a meeting with the "KNTP Project", Ltd. President, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, member of the International Academy of Informatization Fyodor Lobanov (Moscow, Russia).
