INTERNATIONAL BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD THE MEETING AT KAFU

There were discussed a number of important questions of strategic development of KAFU (September 26).


       Marshall Christensen (Founder and President of Co-Serve International, Oregon, USA), the Chair of the Board of Trustees, welcomed all the participants and introduced the new members of the board from the American side. They are: Mike Marsh (Director, Co-Serve International, Oregon, USA), Geoff Guilfoy (President, Lumen Leaders, Director, Co-Serve International, Oregon, USA), Lawnae Hunter (Principal Broker / Owner, Hunter Properties, Certification Board, Co-Serve International, Oregon, USA). As new members of the educational organization «Co Serve International» submitted colleagues were willing to leverage their knowledge and experience in public service, entrepreneurship and business in the implementation of joint educational programs. New members of the Board of Trustees expressed gratitude for rendered trust and responsibility for realization of the assigned tasks.
       The President of KAFU, academician of National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerezhep Mambetkaziyev thanked the partners from the USA and personally thanked the founder and President of the Co-Serve International Marshall Christensen for long-term cooperation and constructive support. In his speech, he informed the members of the Board of Trustees on the current state and prospects of the development of the university.
        -We were the first on the path of international partnership in independent Kazakhstan. - Noted Erezhep Mambetkaziyev. - Today, there are a lot of other universities which use the same way. I am sure that with the creation of the International Board of Trustees will acquire new dimensions and new content of collaboration.
      As part of the agenda was discussed the issue, connected with certification of KAFU on compliance with a leadership culture «Co Serve International». Marshall Christensen presented the main results of the international leadership program realization, defined the new parameters of the program’s development for the formation of personality with a global mindset, and creation the leaders for Kazakhstan and for the world.
        Vice-President of KAFU for Academic Affairs Galina Konopyanova outlined the urgency of the Business School creating on the basis of KAFU, the goals and objectives. American partners Mike Marsh, Lawnae Hunter, Geoff Guilfoy expressed endorsement, interest and willingness to assist in the implementation of the project. It is important to take into account the experience of the USA, where business schools operate in the status of autonomous organizations.
         Vice President of KAFU of International Programs and Relations Daniel Ballast briefed members of the Board of Trustees with the requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and accrediting bodies for International Cooperation of the University. As part of these requirements outlined a series of measures to enhance the academic mobility of students and teachers.
           It is known that forthcoming 2014 is the year of the 20th anniversary of KAFU. Speaking about this anniversary, Den Ballast made the extraordinary offer - celebrations in honor of the 20th anniversary of the KAFU must take place not only in the native penates, but also in the United States. There is some logic in it. Because KAFU is a university of the Kazakh- American partnership.
