Globalization of Education as a Factor of "Kazakhstan - 2050" Strategic Implementation

This is an agenda of the round table, dedicated to the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of KAFU. Roundtable was hold under the chairmanship of KAFU president, member of the National Academy of Science Dr. E. Mambetkaziev, and head of KAFU international board of guardians Dr. M. Christensen.

Agenda of the meeting included three relevant issues: business/university partnerships, educational methods of the future, attracting international students to KAFU. Scientists, KAFU teachers and students participated in discussion.

“Mutually beneficial partnership between higher education and business”.

The speeches, concerning this very problem were delivered by professor of Northwest Nazarene University Samuel Lee Dunn, founder of JDE Group LLC James Evenson, director of Strategic Resources Group, Inc. Robert Roebuck, head of the “Business” department of KAFU Ilona Bordiyanu.

Participants emphasized the problem of unemployment among young specialists, caused by lack of practical experiment that 22-year –old graduate can`t have. That is why higher education and business must understand needs of each other. Joined educational program can help in that. Advantges should be basis for partnership between universities and business.

WHZ Westsächsische Hochschule Zwickau Christian Brauweiler, KAFU vice-president, doctor of pedagogics Ersain Nabiev spoke on the “Educational Methods of the Future” topic.

What should the strategy of attracting international students look like? President of Warner Pacific College Andrea Cook, Executive Professor of Willamette University Michael Marsh, head of the Center for International and Multilingual Programs (KAFU) Yuliya Novitskaay, Director of Organizational Development at Perry and Young, Inc. Brian Young shared their ideas, concerning this matter.

Participants summarized the results of discussion and traced the course of actions.
